Math tutoring is offered Kindergarten through Pre-Calculus. There's something about the daily adventure known as “math homework” that can make even the most easy-going person feel tested. If math help is needed, take heart: every child learns in their own way, meaning personal attention can make all the difference. When it comes to math tutoring, personal learning is what we do best. Our free mini diagnostic assessment gets to the root of your student’s math help needs, so their confidence can soar. They will receive person-to-person attention on the skills they need most. Homework is never given. However, when help is needed with work from school, homework help and test reviews are encouraged.
Sure, you want your student to love reading, but not every child is a natural reader...and even children who are great readers can use reading help from time to time. Because no two children are alike, we personalize reading tutoring to each child, giving children the personal attention-and confidence-they need to soar in the classroom. We take the time to get to know each child and create a learning plan for their success. Soon, reading becomes the fun adventure it should be. Things begin to click at school, and confidence begins to grow. We begin with a free mini diagnostic assessment. We assess how your student learns, so that we may teach them effectively. Assessments in sight words, phonics, and vocabulary are given as well. The initial assessment takes about an hour, and results are ready to review in just minutes.
Each student begins by building a foundation of communication. A customized program is created to focus on the skills each student needs most. Our program focuses on functional writing practice from letter formation to constructing a five paragraph essay.
Language arts is a part of our reading program. Our reading program includes:
Decoding: phonics/decoding words, sight words, and word study
Fluency: vocabulary, comprehension, and following directions.
Application: spelling, language arts, and writing skills
Tabletop Tutoring offers lessons in ACT prep June through the end of August. Each student begins by taking a Diagnostic Assessment. They will receive individual attention to attain the highest score possible. During the program, they will be given the opportunity to review important skills, take practice tests, review mistakes made on the diagnostic assessment, and more. It takes 20-30 lessons to complete the basic reviewing process.
Students are never be given homework by us. We believe extra homework can overwhelm your already overloaded child. However, they are welcome to bring in homework from school.
